What is Enterprise?
Enterprise is about developing the capability to handle uncertainty and respond positively to change. It is about enabling individuals and organisations to create and implement new ideas and new ways of doing things. Enterprise skills allow people to apply their knowledge to deliver a better service or product. This could mean developing a new product for sale, running a better charity or minimising environmental impact. In all cases the entrepreneur needs to be able to spot opportunities and make the most of them.
Why Study Enterprise?
Through studying enterprise, students are encouraged to apply their specialist skills and knowledge to identify opportunities and so maximise their impact in their chosen career, to make a real difference.
Enterprise provides a practical insight into business and organisations. Graduates need to be prepared to fit into a variety of work situations from self-employment, consultancies and partnerships to small businesses, grant funded organisations and large public limited companies. We want graduates to maximise their potential whether working within or leading organisations.
